The rainy season in Indonesia, especially Bogor  brings with it higher prevalence of diseases such as Dengue Hemorrhagic Fver (DHF), diarrhea and hepatitis in the campus of  IPB (Bogor Agricultural University) and its surrounding vaccinities. Such situation has suggested a need for increased vigilance on the part of the health care campus community. These efforts include medical examinations for students, socialization on balanced nutrition for students, food safety, environmental sanitation and hygienic food supply for the entire canteen managers inside and outside the campus.

Another preventive effort was fogging of both female and male dormitories, as it could enable better designed programs to kill mosquitoes in the field that causes dengue.  The fogging was carried out for two days, on 12-13 December 2015. Then, it was followed by cleaning-up movement around the dormitories.

The Director of PPKU (Education Program for General Competency) of  IPB, Dr. Bonny PW Sukarno, stated that the dormitories of TPB IPB perform the fogging activities routinely. "Even for the new students, before they are entering their dormitories they must have disinfectant spray. Moreover,  every two weeks students are assigned to do the clean-up of the environment of their dorms, "said Dr. Bonny. (Wied)
