FEMA-IPB Holds Training on Food Hygiene and Serving

Faculty of Human Ecology (FEMA), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) held a ‘Training on Food Hygiene and Serving in Bogor, on Saturday (6/12). It was attended by about 20 people, namely hygiene staff of FEMA and sellers in the Plasma cafeteria of FEMA. Previously, FEMA organized similar activities, but this time participants were shown practices after obtaining the material from the source persons.
 
Present as the resource persons were a hotel expert of Bogor Hotel Institute (BHI) and Manager of Savero Golden Flower Hotel Bogor. They described the quality standards of hygiene and food preparation according to the hotel standard as well as ways to implement it. Practices were done directly by the participants in the hotel. Through practice, participants said it is easier to remember the material presented. They could also compare their quality performance at FEMA with the quality standards applied in the hotel through the hotel tour.
 
In his speech, Dr. Arif Satria, Dean of FEMA, says, "I expect that when you come to FEMA you can feel like being in a five star hotel". Dr. Arif Satria also added that the training was organized in order to provide a learning experience for the hygiene personnel of FEMA. The training is in line with the agenda of FEMA to develop the Green Plasma, one of which is to develop a Healthy Canteen. In this case, the aspects of sanitation in Plasma and food hygiene are very important. *** (Mtd)
