The IPB Jumling Visited Dramaga Village
The Jumat Keliling (Jumling – Friday Tour) Team of Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB Bogor Agricultural University) visited the Dramaga village, District of Dramaga, of Bogor, on Friday, 13 November 2015. The Village Head of Dramaga, Mr. Yayat Supriatna, in his welcome remarks said, "IPB is leading agricultural university, IPB is rich is agricultural knowledge and technology. It is time for the communities living around the campus to learn from IPB. Those who live around the campus should not feel embarrassed to come and learn from in IPB. Come and raise the spirit of our children, reach the high achievements ".
Furthermore, Yayat expressed his hope that in the future IPB and the villagers of Dramaga will continue to cooperate together to promote and develop the potential of Dramaga villages.
The IPB Jumling team leader, Dr. Hartayo, stated "IPB assumes that the existence of villages around the campus is really bless for the university and the university must assist those potentialities to be developed into the right direction. The IPB Jumling is one channel of the university to communicate directly with communities around the campus, to interact with them to learn their expectations from the university not only on agriculture, education, health, economic and social, but also on the environmental management".
On this occasion, Dr Hartayo who is also the Deputy Head of Community Service, the Institute of Research and Community Empowerment of IPB (LPPM) explained the importance of waste management at the household level which is still the hot issue for villagers of Dramaga. According to him, if every household will manage their household wastes properly, the piling up garbage in the landfills won’t occur.
The activity of IPB Jumling in Dramaga village was the cash donations for orphans, health equipment for IHC, learning equipment for Early Childhood Education (ECD), and Al-Quran for Madrasah. Present at this present Jumling were among other Agrianita IPB, representatives of the Center for Human Resources Development (P2SDM) LPPM, Warcito, SP, MM, LPPM and Public Relation teams of IPB. merupakan putaran ke-14, walaupun sudah mendekati berakhirnya Jumling IPB, tetapi antusias warga Dramaga Lebak Sari sangat banyak yang hadir. Kegiatan Jumling IPB di desa Dramaga selain untuk bersilaturahmi warga masyarakat, juga untuk mengangkat maslah sampah dan pendidikan anak.. Bagaimana cara mengatasi menumpuknya sampah yang sulit untuk diselesaikan, dan bagaimana cara merangsang anak untuk mau kuliah di IPB.
