Six Thousand Children of PAUD Ate Fish in IPB

Alumni Association of Bogor Agricultural University (HA-IPB) and Alumni Association of  Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK) of IPB in collaboration with Association of Teachers and Education Personnel of Early Childhood (HIMPAUDI) of Bogor City held a socialization of the importance of eating fish, Sunday (30/8) in the Field of Gymnasium of Campus of IPB Dramaga Bogor. The activity with the theme of "Aku Cinta Maritim dan Suka Makan Ikan / I Love Maritime and Like Eating Fish” involved around six thousand of early childhood imported from the school of Early Childhood Education (PAUD) Bogor City and District. This joint activity was to commemorate the 52nd Dies Natalis of IPB and the 10th Anniversary of HIMPAUDI. 
 
Rector of IPB, Prof.Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto, in his speech said, these children were, all we hoped, the hope of the nation for 30 years to come became the leader of the nation who was reliable to prosper the nation of Indonesia. “Children should study hard and love to eat fish. Show learning achievement earnestly, so that later they can enter IPB,” exclaimed the Rector in front of thousands of children of PAUD.
 
Director General of PAUD and Community Education of Ministry of Education and Culture  RI, Harris Iskandar, explained, “This activity is part of an effort to foster the love of homeland and the love to eat fish for Early Childhood. Indonesia is the world’s largest maritime country, unfortunately our consumption is the lowest throughout Asean. So from now simultaneously it takes Indonesian children in order to love the maritime, to be intelligent and to like to eat fish”.
 
Attending this occasion among others were Vice Mayor of Bogor, Ir. Usmar Harimar, and Dean of FPIK IPB, Prof.Dr. Indra Jaya. Besides eating fish together it also carried out the activities of finger painting and folding origami. (Awl)
