Marine Goes to School” Arrives on the Island of Karimunjawa

A number of students who are members of the Student Association of Marine Science and Technology (Himiteka), Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB, while conducting  Field Work Practice (PKL) in the Island of Karimunjawa, held “Marine Goes to School” (MGS), on August 14. The group involving Thomas, Aflaha, Ahmad, Sari, Intan, Tri and Amri visited SMK 1 of Karimunjawa.
 
"We select SMK 1 of Karimunjawa as an MGS target because we want to talk a lot about the sea and ecosystem with fellows at this vocational school of fishery," said Sari, a representative of Himiteka Management.
 
In this activity, a number of materials are discussed, namely three coastal ecosystems (seagrass, mangroves, and coral reefs), the condition of the waters around the Island of Karimun and an introduction to the world of college.
 
"Thank you for visiting fellows of IPB who were willing to have discussion, in particular invitations to take further studies in colleges. It is a positive thing for our school," said Trias, one of the teachers who is also an alumni of IPB, FPIK, Batch 35. (Mtd)
