IPB Introduces “IPB Science Park @ Taman Kencana” in Ritech Expo 2015

Research, Innovation and Technology Exhibition (Ritech Expo) 2015 is held on the field D of East Parking Senayan, Jakarta for four days, 7 to 10 August 2015. The exhibition with the theme "Science and Technology Innovation for Nation’s Competitiveness (Food, Energy, Maritime)  is organized by the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) RI as part of the National Technology Awakening Day (Hakteknas) 20th 2015. Ritech Expo 2015 was officially opened by the Minister Ristekdikti, Prof.Dr. Mohamad Nasir.
 
Ritech Expo, displaying the results of research and innovation work of Indonesia is one form of accountability to the public on the use of the state budget for research and development activities. In Ritech Expo 2015 it appears that Indonesian researchers could generate valuable innovations that could benefit the country. It is evident that some innovations displayed in Ritech Expo 2015 have been successfully commercialized and the benefits and impacts are enjoyed by both the society and industry.
 
Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) along with PT Bogor Life Science & Technology (BLST) participated, occupying a stand in the food zone in Ritech Expo 2015, in addition to some IPB innovations that have been commercialized (marketed) as well as those in the business development stage shown by IPB. In Ritech Expo 2015 IPB introduces "IPB Science Park @ Taman Kencana" to the public. It is located in the Taman Kencana Campus of IPB, Central Bogor District, Bogor City, an integrated area designed by IPB for research, development and commercialization of products of tropical agriculture and biosciences supported by well- consolidated facilities, infrastructure, effective and conducive regulations. Four major activities in IPB Science Park are 1) a commercial research, 2) incubation and Techno Venture, 3) limited production to high value products, and 4) training and workshops. Supporting activities are laboratory analysis services, conferences and seminars, edutainment, and product development.
 
Dr. Meika Syahbana Rusli, as President Director of PT BLST managing the Science Park of IPB briefly explains the development progress of IPB Science Park to the Minister Ristekdikti. PT BLST will continue to report on the progress of IPB Science Park and hopes to get support from Kemenristekdikti. Present on the second day the Ritech Expo 2015 and visiting IPB’s stand was the Coordinating Minister for Maritime, Dr. Dwisuryo Indroyono Susilo.
 
In addition to the food zone (Hall A), the Centers of Excellence in IPB also participated in the Ritech Expo 2015, which were incorporated into the Indonesian Centers of Excellence in Hall B. IPB’s Centers of Excellence taking part in the Ritech Expo 2015 are the Medicinal Study Center (PSB), Center for Tropical Horticulture Studies (PKHT), Center for Primate Studies (USDP), and Surfactant and Bioenergy Research Center (SBRC).
