Catfish Harvest in Purwasari Village
Friday Tour Team of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) arrived at Purwasari Village Dramaga Sub-district Bogor District, Friday (14/8). In this picturesque village, the entourage of Friday Tour of IPB was served with the catfish harvest and the direct observation to healthy chicken farm.
“This catfish harvest is deliberately done while welcoming the entourage of Friday Tour of IPB. Because for me it feels very meaningful, considering all that I have done this is the result of mentoring of the lecturer of IPB. It is used to spread approximately 800 catfishes with very small size using the biofloc system, and now it can be harvested by just using the feed for four months which are only enough for 50 kilograms. The results of harvest are approximately 64 kilograms, if it is estimated that the success is approximately 120 percents,“ said Iyus, the catfish farmer, in Kampung Setu Uncal RW 07.
Head of Purwasari Village, M. Yusup Mustofa, thanked to IPB which had been judged to foster Purwasari Village that was very good, mainly for the agricultural sector. “IPB greatly helps the success of the people of Purwasari,” he said.
Head of the Friday Tour Team of IPB, who also was the Deputy Head of Community Service, Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) of IPB, Dr. Hartoyo, said, “IPB assumes the existence of villages around campus is one very important thing, especially for the benefit of the students of IPB, both for the lab work and for getting to know the people’s lives. The expectation of IPB is the existence of the agricultural sector which has been established to be good can continue to be maintained. Hopefully, the kids of Purwasari Village are motivated to be admitted to and to study in IPB”.
On this occasion, the Friday Tour Team of IPB submitted the compensation to 20 orphans, a number of equipments to Early Childhood Education Programs (PAUD) and Madrasah. Also presented at the Friday Tour of IPB this time was the representative of the Government of Dramage Sub-district, the representative of Chief of Sector Police of Dramaga, and Agrianita of IPB.
