IPB’s Team of Innovator Wins Golden Medal in MIIIE

A student team of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) took part in Macau International Innovation and Invention Exhibition (MIIIE) in 2015 (3-5 / 7), organized by the World Intellectual Property Invention Associations (WIIPA) and Macau Innovation and Invention Association (MIIA). This is an event of innovation and invention, so the main assessment is on innovated products that are potential to be commercialized.

 

Participants of the event came from various levels of schools, research institutes of government and non-government and enterprises. International participants taking part in this event are Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, China, Canada, Poland and other participants, accounting for a total of 250 people for 80 product innovations. Indonesian representatives who are members of INNOPA Indonesia consists of three teams of innovators from IPB, Brawijaya, and Secondary School St. Hendrikus.

 

IPB’s team of Innovators in MIIIE 2015 consists of four students namely Farauq Arrahman, Galih Nugraha, and Putri Vionita (Department of Management, Faculty of Economics and Management-FEM 2012), and Abdul Aziz (Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture, 2012).

 

Product innovated by IPB’s team is "GUCAKUSI” (Liquid Sugar is Made from Cassava Skin as an Alternative Source of Glucose), product innovation in the form of liquid sugar made from the waste cassava skin. This product has four kinds targeted at their respective market. First, the liquid sugar is packaged in large bottles for housewives; second, it is put into bottles for travelers; third, it is packaged in sachets as instant product; and fourth, it is put in large quantity (barrels). This innovative product comes with a master plan for social business of our product in cooperation with aci cassava factory in the village of Ciluar. 

 

In this event of MIIIE 2015, the IPB’s team of innovators wins a Golden Medal and three Special Awards. IPB’s team is the only representative of Indonesia to obtain the golden medal in MIIIE 2015. The Special Award to the IPB’ team of innovators is given by Polish Innovation Institute, the International Federation of Inventors Association (IFIA), World Intellectual Property Invention Associations (WIIPA).
