In this Thematic KKN, students will be deployed to regions according to the potential needs of the regions, such as fisheries, agriculture and so on.
Rector said, Thematic KKN already done so far is the answer or approach of the campus, students and faculties to the existing problems in the community. "This is to enable IPB graduates to play roles in the communities, placing students as the spearhead of the university in the society," he added.
Vice Head of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) IPB for the Community Service Division, Dr. Hartayo explained, so far KKP (Real Work Practice) of IPB has been a form of education providing learning experiences for students to live in the community, outside the campus. Until the early 2015’s, explained Dr. Hartayo, KKP-IPB had been integrated into only four faculties, namely Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Human Ecology, Faculty of Animal Science, and Faculty of Economics and Management.
