Studium Generale of Pre-Graduation of IPB: Graduates Prepared to Welcome the MEA

In order to prepare the graduates at commencement who were ready to face the working world, Directorate of Career Development and Alumni Relation (DPKHA), Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) held Studium Generale of Career Debriefing for Pre-Graduation of Bachelors, Monday (16/3) at Auditorium Andi Hakim Nasoetion, Campus of IPB Dramaga, Bogor. The event was officially opened by Vice Rector of IPB of Research and Cooperation, Prof.Dr. Anas Miftah Fauzi. 

 

In his speech, Prof. Anas conveyed the importance of preparing themselves to face the Economic Community of ASEAN (MEA) which was in sight. Special expertise in a particular field and communication skills were very important to have in order to survive in the working world. He also hoped that the prospective graduates could work with the alma mater after graduation. “I hope that the graduates will be successful with the full blessing, be able to cooperate with the alma mater and maintain the good name of IPB,” he explained.

 

In harmony with Prof. Anas, Director of DKPHA, Dr. Syarifah Iis Aisyah, reminded the graduating students to prepare themselves to face the world after college. “As is MEA, the competitors are not only from the campuses in Indonesia, but also the students of Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and other Asian countries,” she said.

 

In this studium generale, it was given a briefing material and discussion filled by the alumni of IPB, i.e. Director of Operations of PT. Matahari Putra Prima, Ir. Emi Nuel, and Director of PT. Embrio Biotekindo all at once the initiator of Tempe Movement, Ir. Wida Winarno, M.Si. This session was guided by Tjandra Wibowo as the moderator. (AS)
