FAPERTA of IPB Organized Workshop on “Opportunities to Study at Kyoto University”

Faculty of Agriculture of Bogor Agricultural University (FAPERTA IPB) in collaboration with the Graduate School of Agriculture, Kyoto University organized a workshop for IPB students, on Friday, 27 March 2015. The Workshop was organized to socialize the graduate study programs at Kyoto University, and it was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture of IPB, Dr. Ernan Rustiadi, in the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dramaga Campus, Bogor.
 
In his remarks Dr. Rustiadi explained that cooperation between Kyoto University with Faculty  of Agriculture of IPB has been established for the last three years. Particularly next year, both IPB and the Kyoto University will open Double-degree programs for the Master’s students. So far, Kyoto University has academic exchange agreements with ninety-three universities, one of  which is IPB. Two other universities in ASEAN member countries are  Mahidol University, Thailand, and Hanoi University of Science and Technology, Vietnam.
 
In respond, the Vice Dean for International Affairs of Kyoto University, Dr. Eiji Nawata, explained the opportunities for study at Kyoto University, particularly in the Graduate School of Agriculture. He presented an overview of Kyoto University, courses offered, Graduate School admission, and the calendar of academic. Entrance examination of Kyoto University will be held twice a year, namely in April and October.
 
In his presentation, Dr. Eiji also explained one of the excellent programs offered by the Kyoto University, namely Special Course in Agricultural Sciences – For The Global Future of Life, Food and Environment. The objective of the program is to develop human resources who will be competent to do research programs, to get experiences and international perspectives in the field of life, food and environment who are expected to become a global leader in the future.
