Indoflowers Gallery and Tectona Resto, Enriched the Attractions of Bogor
As a tourist city as well a culinary city, Bogor City continued to equip itself with various sufficient facilities. Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) through PT Bogor Life Science and Technology (Holding company) also presented the innovation and the expertise in form of Indoflowers Gallery and Tectona Resto and Lounge, located in the area of IPB Science Park Jalan Taman Kencana Number 3 Bogor City. The existence of Indoflowers Gallery and Tectona Resto and Lounge was expected to become one of the objectives of tourists visiting Bogor City.
This was conveyed by Director of PT BLST, Dr Meika Syahbana Rusli, in the event of Grand Opening of Indoflowers, Thursday (27/11) in Taman Kencana Bogor. It was said, Indoflowers was one of the business units of PT BLST (Holding Company) IPB running in the field of ornamental plants. Indoflowers was built since 2007 and supported by Department of Agronomy and Horticulture of Faculty of Agriculture of IPB.
Indoflowers was built with the objective to apply the scientific products of IPB in the field of ornamental plants to the public. Having the vision to develop various varieties of new ornamental plants and other innovative products created by the academicians of IPB.
Grand opening which was done by Rector of IPB, Prof Dr Herry Suhardiyanto, was aimed to introduce “Indoflowers Gallery” to the public. The product and service offered by Indoflowers were including souvenir, mini garden, decorative indoor plants and rental plants.
In the same location, Tectona Resto and Lounge was opened in the middle of the green coolness of the area of Taman Kencana. The result of the creativity of the cook provided new color in the culinary world, especially in the area of Bogor City.
The Rector of IPB said, IPB wanted together with Bogor people to increase the welfare through innovation. “No matter how heavy it is to face the global competition with the validity of the agreement of ASEAN in the next December 2015, we must be ready. Let’s strengthen all classes of stakeholders to co-optimize the existing potentials. Strengthen our institution, areas, and nation,” said the Rector.
Meanwhile, the Director of BLST further talked about the Strategic Plan of PT BLST 2014-2018, which had established that one of the portfolio of supporting businesses that should be implemented by the company was the development of “Science Park”. IPB Science Park would be built in the former area of Campus of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of IPB Taman Kencana with the total area of 3.46 hectares.
The existence of IPB Science Park Taman Kencana was projected to give benefits to the economic, the social, and the environment. The economic was in form of the increase of industrial growth based on science and technology, the regional income and the labor absorption; the social was in form of the public edutainment in the strategic and easy to reach location; and the environment was in form of the addition of green land and open space and a good atmosphere.
