Students of MAN (State Islamic High School) of Mauk Tangerang interested in Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, IPB Thursday, October 23, 2014

Some 200 students of MAN Mauk Tangerang visited IPB. They were welcome by Head of Promotion Section, the Office of Law, Promotion, and Public Relations, Dr. drh. Fahrudin, in the Auditorium of Andi HakimNasoetion, Dramaga campus of IPB (23/10).

The leader of the school representatives, Drs. M.M Jafar, said that purpose of visiting IPB is to provide the students with experience and knowledge about one of the biggest campus in Indonesia.

According to him, Conveys, IPB is an option for MAN Mauk to visit because in general the livelihoods of the local people around MAN Mauk are fishermen. Therefore, as a step to improve the marine resources, IPB is the right choice for the students’ future. Until now, not few of the alumni of MAN Mauk have been accepted in IPB. For this reasons, he is taking the students of grade 10, 11 and 12, with hope of increasing the number of students accepted for the studies in the university.

With respect to the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) IPB, Dr. drh.

Fahrudin said that there are five departments that can be options for the studies, namely the Departments of Aquaculture, Aquatic Resource Management, Aquatic Product Technology, Fishing Resource Utilization, and Marine Science and Technology. (Mtd)
