Directorate of Human Resources (HR) of  Bogor Agricultural University, organized the Anti-Corruption Training in IPB at IPB International Convention Center (IICC), on  19 August 2014. "In order to implement the Presidential Instruction (Inpres) No. 1 of 2013 on Prevention and Eradication Corruption Actions, we have to support and implement the national anti-corruption movement, especially at IPB. It has been our record that corruption is a "cancer" that must be eradicated up to its roots, "said Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Herry  Suhardiyanto, M.Sc in his opening remarks.

The government regulation No. 71 year 2000 also stated that community participation is the active role of individuals, organizations, or NGOs in the prevention and eradication of corruption (TIPIKOR). Prof. Dr. Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc emphasized the objectives of organizing this anti-corruption training was to improve the understanding of corruption and its eradication efforts. In addition, to implement the anti-corruption values within IPB academicians. Expected outputs, academicians of IPB will take part to prevent and combat corruption.

Also present at the event, Dr. Ir. Roni Dwi Susanto, M. Si as Director of Research and Development (R & D), the Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi (KPK – Corruption Eradication Commission). Dr. Roni said that the root of corruption include poor moral leader, honest, intelligent, and brave, and political processes that are dirty and corrupt democracy. "Campus can play a role in combating corruption by monitoring the design, implementation, and law enforcement of legal products, as well as controlling the budgeting Plan and the realization of  APBN/D. Campus will become the center of legal policy studies, and education center and an anti-corruption campaign, "said Dr. Roni.

"Up to the year 2013, more than 248 trillion Rupiah total assets / wealth potential of the Indonesian government was rescued by the Commission," said Dr. Roni. Thus combating corruption program is very important. Because corruption can damage the morale and the foundation of the state.

This event also presents Gandjar Laksmana Bonaprapta, SH., MH., legal expert of University of Indonesia, who presented his paper on  the offense of corruption in the  legislation in Indonesia. (Wied).
