Friday Tour of IPB in Dramaga Village
Friday Tour of IPB was in 17 villages around campus (19/9), with the theme of “Gerakan Hidup Bersih dan Sehat / Clean and Healthy Living Movement” and the area planning of “Kampung Bersih”. The activity of Friday Tour was started from the community service of IPB group together with the community of Kampung Oncom, which was now called Dramaga Situ Leutik. To be exact it was in RT 02 RW 06, Dramaga Village, Dramaga Sub-district, Bogor District.
Friday Tour was started around 06.00 WIB in the morning. Residents and IPB group worked together to clean gutters, streets and landfills. After the community service, all residents starting from village heads, community leaders, young men, young women, ladies of PKK and Integrated Service Post, orphans, and IPB group gathered at the mosque of Al-Adjrumi.
“Dramaga Village is besides having a carp aquaculture, also known for its candied. In this village there are many candied businesses, like candied nutmeg, mango, papaya, and others. This is very potential to be developed, especially candied nutmeg and nutmeg syrup. For that reason, LPPM IPB gives nutmeg tree seedlings to the villages around campus. The hope is, after fruiting it can meet the supply of raw materials for UMKM of nutmeg,” said Deputy Head of LPPM IPB, Dr. Ir. Hartoyo, M.Sc.
What was interesting in Dramaga, apparently this assisted village of IPB had traditional cultural arts of rampak bedug that had stood since 1980s. This art was maintained from generation to generation so that they could survive until now. Its peak, in May 2014, the traditional art of Rampak Bedug of Kampung Situ Leutik followed the Islamic Nuance Arts Festival at the National level held by the Culture and Tourism Service. What was remarkable, they got the second winner.
No doubt, the group of Friday Tour of IPB were treated to the performance of four young men who hit the bedug. They were not just beating any bedug, but their blow had the valuable art because it produced a beautiful and melodious rhythm.
"This rampak bedug activity becomes the empowerment of young men in order to have the positive activity. Be desirable, they love the art bequeathed by their predecessors. Besides, it is to avoid the wrong crowd,” said Arof Akbar Head of Rampak Bedug and also Head of RT 02 RW 06. (Wal)
