Indonesian National Army of Territorial Force Invites IPB to Share Ideas on Territorial Issues Tuesday, April 01, 2014

Ten delegates of Education and Training Command, Indonesian National Army (TNI AD Kodiklat) of Bandung visited Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Wednesday (26/3), in Darmaga campus of IPB, Bogor. They were warmly welcomed by Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, MSc. On that occasion, IPB Rector expressed his appreciation for the visit by the delegates. IPB Rector invites them to work together to advance the nation.

"Let’s have a synergy and collaboration with various stakeholders, especially business and industry for the betterment of the nation. For information, so far IPB has produced many scientific works in the form of innovations in agriculture. These can be used to support the agricultural sector in our country so that people can prosper," said IPB Rector.

Wadan Kodiklat Army Chief, Major General Dody Usudo Hargo said, the intent and purpose of coming to IPB is to carry out the tasks from the Leaders of the Indonesian National Army. According to him, to meet the challenges of globalization, the Army Leaders have put forward three ideas or pillars of transformation that has been thoroughly established, and even these have been implemented since September 2013. The three areas of transformation include battle, support and territory. "Our arrival to IPB is for one thing to obtain inputs from academics and scientists who have proven their knowledge," he said.

Further, Dody said especially the third strategy, the territory, can not be implemented purely and directly by the army. This involves all components of the Indonesian nation."Therefore, there must be a sharing of opinion among scientists, especially of IPB. In particular, the Army Chief invites Rector and his staff to come and discuss the transformation strategy of territory. The result of the meeting is expected to provide solutions to the border problems or territorial," said Dody.

Present at the occasion were Head of Research and Community Service Institute (LPPM-IPB), Dr. Ir. Prastowo, M. Eng.; Vice Head of LPPM-IPB for Community Service, Dr. Ir. Hartoyo, M.Sc.; Vice Head of LPPM IPB for Research, Prof. Dr. DVM. Agik Suprayogi, M.Sc., Agr.; Secretary of the University, Dr. Ir. Ibnul Qayyim; Director of Strategic Studies and Policy, Dr. Ir.
