Bogor Agricultural University Will Despatch Graduate Students to Universitas Adelaide, Australia, for Double Degree Program

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) will start to implement its double degree with its  partner university from Australia, theAdelaide University. To mark the implementation, Professor. Warren Bebbington,the President of The University of Adelaide had given his Public Lecture recently.  The public lecture was held at Campus Baranangsiang, Bogor, on Thursday, 27 March 2014.

 

In his lecture, Prof. Bebbington invited participants, particularly the university communities to pursue their higher degree program at the Adelaide University. As the Adelaide University is a world-class university, especially in medicine and agriculture.

 

In his remarks, Vice-Rector for Research and Cooperation of IPB, Prof. AnasMiftahFauzi explained that up to present time, IPB has carried out 2 batches of double degree program. For the first batch, eleven graduate students of IPB were selected and were sent to the targeted university. Further, IPB planned to expand such double degree program by providing opportunities for collaborated students from the Ministry of Industry. "IPB is planning to dispatch additional 20 students from the Department of Agroindustrial Technology, Faculty of Agriculture, IPB," said Prof. Anas. Finally,in  addition to double degree program, Prof. Anas stated that  partnership on research programwill also be explored.

 

The Memorandum of Understanding between both universities was signed by Prof. HerrySuhardiyanto, Rector of IPB on behalf of IPB, and Professor. Warren Battington, the President of Adelaide University on behalf ofthe Adelaide University, and was witnessed by the vice-chancellor and staff of both universities."AHLI (Ahalf Learning for Indonesia) is the flat-form for the cooperation between Adelaide University and IPB," said Dr.EkoHariPurnomo, of the Directorate of International Programs and Cooperation of IPB.(Wied).
