The Regent of Bangli and the Group were amazed by the ADS-IPB Programs

The Bangli Regent, Mr. I Made Gianyar, SH, M. Hum accompanied by his expertise staff, Regional Working Units (Satuan Kerja Perangkat Daerah – SKPD), and the all village leaders of Bangli, who made official visit to IPB, were amazed to see the cultivation program of  organic caisim by researchers from Agribussines Development Station of Bogor Agricultural (ADS-IPB), on Wednesday, 19 March 2014, at the Auditorium Andi Hakim Nasoetion, DRAMAGA Campus, Bogor. They were so surprised to know that even only lower vegetable such as caisim, it has produced great business with large amount of money. Such method is really needed by the Bangli Regent who plans to develop his farmers to be prosperous communities by their agriculture.

In addition to learn ADS-IPB, IPB also presented for the Bangli group Leuwikopo Experimental Garden in brief, which shows among other things were the mix-farming between orchids and catfish (Angle); then followed by Tegal Waru Cattle Farming (CV Anugrah Farm); Field Laboratory; Cattle Processing by Faculty of Animal Husbandry of IPB; SEAFAST Center; and Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM-IPB).

Chairman of LPPM-IPB, Dr. Prastowo, in his welcome remarks for Bangli Regent stated that such activity was the follow-up action due to the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Bangli Regency with IPB previously. He explained, LPPM-IPB had planned the Community Service Activities Scheme, that includes  IPB Goes To Field (IGTF) and Farmers Go To IPB Campus (FGTIC). Dr.. Prastowo further explained, particularly for the FGTIC, this special program will be for village leaders and farmers of  Bangli.

As the follow up of the visit, whenever matched to its annual plan and agreeable, Mr. Regent will send around 10-15 village leaders and farmers of Bangli to IPB for internship works.  Here at the campus, they will learn further details of special agricultural knowledge  which are appropriate for their societies at Bangli, "explained Dr. Prastowo.

Overview of both IPB and LPPM-IPB were  presented by Deputy Chief of LPPM-IPB for Community Service, Dr.. Hartayo. Guided tour to visit the  locations of the  best of innovative producers were planned for the group at the end of their visit. (Wied).
