Rector of IPB so Anxious for the Future of IPB Graduates

Rector of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto really anxious as well as apprehensive  every time he presents his valedictorian remarks for newly graduated students.  He always hopes that the new graduates will play important role to assist the nation to develop its agriculture. However, he is so anxious to know  that some of those new graduates are still  mingling around in the campus, probably just enjoy the  food and chatting with their friends in the cafeteria they used to come, visiting the library, even approaching the student affairs office for legalizing their credentials. This was the statement made by IPB Rector in front of new graduates in the Studium Generale “Pembekalan Karir Prawisuda” held by Directorate of Career Development and Alumni Relations (Direktorat Pengembangan Karir dan Hubungan Alumni – DPKHA) of IPB, on Monday, 17 March 2014,  in the Auditorium Andi Hakim Nasoetion, DRAMAGA Campus, Bogor. To that end, Rector encouraged the newly graduates, who will be conferred on  Wednesday, 18 March 2014, to step firmly and always look at the future sharply. "May God Bless you, and bless you  the brighter future," said Rector of IPB.
 
On this special occasion, Rector of IPB expressed his gratitude to have  the  Stadium Generale which invited successful businessmen from PT. DuPont Indonesia. He expected that this special occasion will provide valuable opportunities for prospective graduates to learn the first hand important information on business management. "He doesn’t want to discourage them to apply to be members of government civil servant or employees of companies, but they are encouraged to be entrepreneurs to work on the their own farms," stated Rector. Prior to the Rector’s presentation, Director DPKHA of IPB , Dr. Syarifah Iis Aisyah reminded the graduates on the era the Asean Economic Community in 2015. In order to get better opportunities working in Indonesia, plenty of graduates from other ASEAN countries have joint many Indonesian courses to learn Indonesian. Therefore, in front of hundreds of the graduating students, Dr . Syarifah encouraged them to step forward for better future. Speakers the present Stadium Generale were, Mr. George Hadi Santoso (Managing Director of PT. DuPont Indonesia), Mardahana ( DuPont Pioneer Country Manager Indonesia), and Haidar Wurjatno (The Champion of Young Entrepreneur). In his presentation, George emphasized  the three important keys to be the successful entrepreuners, namely: attitude or positive attitude, optimistic, willing to change, and keep on learning. While knowledge and skills, as entrepreneurs, we should be long-life learning societies, means we should always up-date our knowledge and skills. (Wied).
