After in 2013 the students of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) conducted the activity of Six University Initiative Japan-Indonesia (SUIJI) – Service Learning Program(SLP) in Japan, in 2014, as much as 21 students from three universities in Japan namely Ehime University, Kagawa University, and Kochi University and 37 students of IPB conducted the activity of IPB Goes to Field (IGTF) International 2014 in IPB Campus Circumference. They visited the Village of Cikarawang, Kelurahan Situgede and Tegal District on 27 February and ended on the upcoming 11 March 2014. Before running this program, the students from Japan and IPB conducted the gala dinner in Campus of IPB Dramaga, Wednesday (26/2).
 
On this occassion, Rector of IPB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Herry Soehardiyanto, M.Sc said, the welcome greeting to the participants. “This is a good opportunity for the students from Japan to learn about the culture and language in Indonesia and vice versa. Indonesian students also can learn from the students from Japan. This also opens the future opportunity to collaborate.”
 
Prof. Tajima said, “We are very happy to come to IPB. Where the students from Japan will start the program of SUIJI. I remember three years ago we started the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed and discussed the content of the MoU namely the exchange student. I hope this program persists in order to maintain the cooperation and relationship between universities. Japan has the long history of friendship. I thank to IPB and the students which have been participated in this activity.” (RF)
