Delegation of University of Western Australia (UWA) chaired by its Pro Vice Chancellor for Internationalization, Prof Iain Watt visited IPB to identify research and teaching areas in which IPB and UWA could collaborate especially in the field of agriculture, marine science, economics, food science and biotechnology. UWA is among top eight universities in Australia which has strong research and academic activities in those areas. The specific interest of UWA is in line with research focus of IPB in food, energy, ecology and environment, biomedicines, and poverty reduction.
 
The UW delegation mentioned its interest in student exchange, research collaboration, and staff mobility. Specifically Prof Watt looking for list of courses offered in English which can be taken by UWA students. List of IPB courses offered in English for International students are available through AIMS program offered by faculty of agriculture and department of food science and technology, faculty of agricultural engineering and technology.
 
Exploring possible funding sources from Indonesia (e.g. DGHE of Ministry of Education and Culture, and LPDP of Ministry of Finance) and Australia (e.g. AUSAID and New Colombo Plan) must be done to financially support different proposed activities.  As a result of their visit to IPB and other institutions in Indonesia such as DGHE and LPDP, UWA will establish a strategic plan to collaborate with Indonesian Universities.
