The Directorate of Diploma Programs of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) has targeted that four per cent of its graduates will became entrepreneurs. This was stated by the Assistant Director of Student Affairs, IPB Diploma Programme, Dr.Suwarno, M.Siin his opening remarks in Stadium General of Career Preparatory Graduation at GrhaWidya Graduation, Campus Dramaga, Tuesday, 12 November 2013.
 
"The typical alumni of IPB should be having strong entrepreneurial character. Therefore, we expect that the alumni of the Diploma IPB will be bold enough to run entrepreneurship. IPB Diploma curriculum has been designed so that the alumni had high confidence to be an entrepreneur. We are targeting that four percent of our graduates will become entrepreneurs. If the target is achieved it will certainly that a lot of alumni of Diploma IPB will be absorbed, "he said.
 
According to him, the currently the available are imbalance with the number of the university graduates. More tough situation will occur whenever the Asean-China Free Trade Area (ACFTA) and the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) will be implemented in the year 2015. Competition will occurs not only between universities but also with graduates from other ASEAN countries and China. Therefore, the graduates really have to fight to get jobs. 
 
Rector of IPB, Prof..Dr..HerrySuhardiyanto, M.Sc also emphasized similar requests for the graduate candidates. Alumni of IPB should be ready to be pioneer in the new agricultural business in its broadest sense, which will beneficial for the community.
 
"Having entrepreneurship skills in agriculture in the broad sense, alumni might serve their expertise for the wider community which will make IPB famous," his remarks for the  graduating students. 
 
In the briefingprior to their graduation, the Organizing Committee invited of IPB alumni who takes entrepreneurship for their life. Gun Sutopothe ownersof Sabilla Farm and Tri Mumpuni from the Institute of Business and EkonomiKerakyatan(Economic Democracy).
 
In the Phase II of the Graduation Day for the Diploma Program to be held tomorrow, IPB will produce 590graduates. In the first phase of Graduation, held on August 2013, 1300 graduates had been produced. After being graduated from the Diploma Program, they are entitled to have their Associate Expert and theyready to compete in the labour markets. (Wied).
