ISEE IPB: Preparing Indonesian Competitiveness Towards the Era of Free Competition
Education has a key role in developing human resources. Competition in the job world requires the development of education at a global level. This was stated by Head of Sub Directorate of Interest-Talent and Reasoning, Directorate of Student Affairs, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Dr.Ir. Sugeng Santoso, M.Agr., in the International Scholarship and Education Expo (ISEE), 2013, Saturday (5/10) in Darmaga campus of IPB.
This event was organized Student Executive Board, Student Families, Bogor Agricultural University (BEM-KM-IPB). "Improving the quality of human resources becomes the task that must be accomplished by the Indonesian nation today. To take future challenges, education has a key role to develop high-quality human resources toward superior competitiveness. Competition in the job world requires us to have an international outlook," said Dr.Sugeng.
Overseas education is one of the strategic measures to improve the quality of human resources. This need, Dr.Sugeng said further, leads to a high demand for overseas education scholarships. "Education abroad can also help us to know the culture and life of the countries in the world. It is important to understand in order to adapt to the higher cultural diversity," he said.
According to Chief Executive of ISSE 2013 Nugraha Ramadan, the purpose of ISEE is to motivate IPB students to study abroad. "By studying abroad, they gain knowledge of how people’s mindset abroad is in the face of challenges," he said. Around 700 students signed up for ISEE-IPB 2013 to study abroad.
This year, ISEE 2013 takes the theme "Go Abroad and Prepare Your Self for ASEAN Economy Community". This activity is open to students, secondary school students, and the general public. ISEE consists of a series of events, namely: IELTS workshop, TOEFL ITP Test, TOEFL Prediction Test, IELTS Prediction Test, Education and Cultural Expo, International Education Seminar, and International Cultural Night.
