IPB Gave Red Ginger Seeds for the People of Benteng Village

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) gave red ginger seeds in order to be planted in the yard in Benteng Village. The giving of ginger seed symbolically was given at the Friday Tour, Friday (11/10) in Benteng Village. In this opportunity, IPB  submitted some help like: medical devices, aids for Early Childhood Education (PAUD), one unit of computer and a certificate of  Institutional Capacity Building Training for Empowerment of Family Welfare (PKK) for PKK activator there.
 
Head of Benteng Village, H. Abu Bakar, delivered his appreciation for the visit of IPB to his village. “We say thank you to IPB for visiting Benteng Village and give knowledge and insight for the benefit of people,” said H.Abu Bakar. H  Abu Bakar  hoped, this hospitality activity could keep continuing. “With the visit of IPB to our village, the people get new skills that can help to increase the household’s economy. Not only that, the children of Benteng Village especially those having the status of orphans get the sympathetic care from IPB,” he continued.
 
Meanwhile, Secretary of the Institute for Research and Community Service (LPPM) IPB, Prof.Dr.Sulistiono, in his welcome speech said,  IPB as one of biggest state universities in Indonesia had the main task i.e. implementing the high education activity. “For younger siblings who have good achievement in school, and someday go to university at IPB, please sign up to IPB!” said Prof.Sulistiono. 
 
Besides the educational activity, IPB also conducted the activities of research and service. “Asking for forgiveness, if in this Benteng Village there are many students of IPB who conduct the research tasks. In addition to the research, IPB also conducts the task of community service. In the service activity,  IPB wants to motivate the people of  17 Villages of Campus Circle who are interested in agriculture, fishery, food processing technology and so on, to be able to learn from the experts of IPB. There are many experts,” explained the Teaching Staff of the Department of Water Resource Management, the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, of IPB. This Friday Tour this time was attended by Ciampea Subdistrict Head, Expert in Medicinal Plant of IPB, Prof. Ervizal Amzu, Chairman and Management of Agrianita IPB, Management of PKK and Management of Posdaya.
