Cibanteng, Ciampea District, is one of the villages with many residents working as catfish farmers. In the Friday Tour at the village of Cibanteng, the Research and Community Services Institution, Bogor Agricultural University (LPPM-IPB) sowed a thousand catfish seeds into the ponds owned by the Farmers Group "Mekar Tani", Friday (11/10). In this event a cultivation of carp in gallons was also introduced by Dr. Ir. Elang Ilik.

"I like to say: Welcome to Cibanteng Village, in particular RW. 04. Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah), this afternoon we are having the visit of IPB. It is an honor for us as Cibanteng village government. Thanks to the IPB academic community for its participation in developing 17 Villages around IPB Campus," said the village chief of Cibanteng, Warso, S.Sos in his speech.

Vice Head of LPPM-IPB for the Division of Community Services, Dr. Ir. Hartoyo, M.Sc said a lot of residents were attending the Friday Tour in Cibanteng village. In fact, according to him, it has the most participants this year. "I think this shows Cibanteng people’s great enthusiasm in this Friday Tour."

When asked about waste management, Dr.Hartoyo replied said that it is not only the problem of waste management, but the most important is the household practuces of disposing waste. "Indeed there is no mechanism to process waste properly, as in Jakarta the waste banks can be exchanged for money. I think we have to change the household mindset that waste can make money. We also conduct training and patronage on producing liquid fertilizer from waste in Babakan village, which has been running quite well," he said

This activity began with qasidah (religious) songs by the Women Group of MajelisTa’lim Darussalam, and followed by Tausiyah (religious advice) by H. Waladan Mardijja, SE.Sy, who explained a lot about the greatness of Allah SWT (the Almighty God) and the importance of friendship. In this activity IPB also gave donation to orphaned children in Cibanteng, medical equipment to Posyandu "Kuntum Mekar", educational facilities to  the Islamic Junior High School "Miftahul Ulum", and certificates of Training on "Institutional Capacity Improvement of PKK" for 17 villages around IPB campus."
