Discover the Biological Fertilizer B & O Ferat IPB Agrifuture Expo

A number of scientific works of faculty members of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (F-MIPA) IPB,were exhibited at the Business Meeting for Excellent Products of FMIPA IPB theme “Science Based Technology in Agriculture”, Thursday, 5 September 2013,at Ballroom B, IPB International Convention Center (IICC), Bogor. This activity is one of the agenda of the IPB Agrifuture Expo held to commemorate the 50thanniversary of IPB.

Those scientific works were “Biological Fertilizer B&O Fer”, by the Department of Biology, “a Modifiedpreparations Chitosan-Based Nano Ketoprophenby the Department of Chemistry, and “Meteorological Instrumentation” by the Department of Geology and Meteorology.Moreover, the Department of Computer Science presented “IPBiotics-IPB-Biodiversity Informatics”,it was the collaboration product between the Department of Computer Science with the Department of Forest Resources Conservation and Ecotourism (KSHE) Faculty of Forestry. Further, the Department of Physics presented Digital NaClDetectoror NaCl concentration Measurement System (Instrumentation Technology Application), and finallythe Department of Biochemistry presented Mahogany skin Tablet.

The Dean of F-MIPA, Dr. Sri Nurdiati, was happy to organize such program to promotethe works of the faculty members to the public. "As might be the public opinion on the scientific works of F-MIPA IPB are mostly theoretical concept which are inapplicable. In reality, out of the 105 Innovation records, some of which are the products of F-MIPA faculty members. Thus, this is to show that F-MIPA scientific works are beneficial, "said Dr. Sri.

Further, Dr. Sri stated that the business meeting was planned to provide the meeting media between researchers with its end-users, as the link-match between university communities, business men, and government. It was expectedto pave collaborationbetween them. "To promote the applicability of university products by general public, this link-match is very necessary. As we are at the universities, wewon’t be allowed to produce mass products, it is not our business, "said Dr. Sri.

In the “question and answer” session, all the scientific works were applauded attentively. Biological fertilizer B & O Ferfor instance, got the attention of representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and one of the businessmen on Sari Kurma. The 50th Anniversary of IPB is organized jointly between IPB and BRI Bank.(Wied).
