30 Less Advantaged Children Take Free Mass Circumcision offered by BEM-FEMA IPB

A total of 30 orphans or underprivileged children in Galuga Village, Ciampea District, Bogor Regency took free mass circumcision organized by the Student Executive Board, Faculty of Human Ecology, Bogor Agricultural University (BEM-FEMA IPB), Saturday (29/6) at the Village Hall of Galuga, Ciampea. Apart from being freed from the financial charge, each child participating in  the mass circumcision get gifts, allowance and various other souvenirs of the committee.
 
Village Chief of Galuga, Endang Sujana, A.Md expresses many thanks to IPB for organizing the mass circumcision for underprivileged people. "The majority of our population is of low to middle class. Most of our villagers are agricultural laborers and construction workers, so this kind of activity is very helpful. Moreover, this is part of the sunnah (the practice) of the Messenger," said Endang.
 
Endang said he and village officials are ready to cooperate with IPB to improve the lives of villagers in Galuga. According to him, who has been elected as the village Chief for two consecutive periods is, since he took office, IPB has held several activities to improve the economy and education in his village.
 
Chairman of the Committee, Mutiara Irfarinda adds that this activity, as one of the activities of Faculty of Human Ecology Care and Share (FRESH) 2013, is possible as the result of the cooperation between BEM-FEMA IPB and PT. Jati Diri Trans and Abang None of the Thousand Islands. "In April we organized a blood donor and this September we plan to provide contribution to orphans as well as health education for children," said Mutiara. According to Mutiara, the activity series of FRESH 2013 aim to foster a sense of caring for others and maintain the ecological balance of human beings around IPB campus. (Mtd)
