IPB Provided Training of Community-Based Tourism

Postgraduate School of Study Program of Ecotourism Management and Environmental Services (PS MEJ) of Department of Conservation of Forest Resources and Ecotourism (DKSHE) of Faculty of Forestry of IPB in collaboration with the Culture and Tourism Services of North Maluku Province conducted the Training of Community-Based Tourism of North Maluku Province, (16/6) in campus of IPB Dramaga, Bogor. The training was opened by the Dean of Faculty of Forestry of IPB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang Hero Saharjo, M.Sc, accompanied by Chairman of PS MEJ, Dr. Ir. Ricky Avenzora, MSc.F. 
 
This training was carried out in order to build insight and encourage in the development of community-based tourism in North Maluku Province. This training was followed by 15 participants from the districts in the North Maluku Province. As reported by Chairman of PS MEJ, Ricky Avenzora, in his speech.
 
 “I hope the participants following this training can become the initiator, the motivator and the main perpetrator of tourism there,” said Ricky. Meanwhile, the Dean of Faculty of Forestry of IPB, Prof. Bambang Hero Saharjo, MSc welcomed this training cooperation. 
 
“Community-based tourism activity today is very important and strategic as the source of revenue, therefore we must be well prepared on how to welcome the tourists who come, lest when the tourist coming we even overwhelmed,” said Prof. Bambang.  After the participants completed the lecture in the classroom, they would practice with the comparative study activities to various touring objects, in Bogor, Bandung, Jogjakarta and Bali.
