Friendship in TPB (First Year Common Program), IPB

News
You’re true friends
We’re true friends
Face the world
Hold my hand

Not easy for us to realize
Listening to each other’s heart
Not easy for us to understand
Sharing our feelings

You are …
Where I share my stories
You’re perfect
Part of my life
Whatever your shortcomings

This is part of the song lyric of the Band Nidji, sung by IPB Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc., in the farewell party of IPB students, Batch 49, Saturday (31/5) in Dramaga Campus of IPB, Bogor. The party marked the end of the First Year Common Program (TPB), and the ended the students’ stay in TPB dormitory.

This event was filled with a variety of students’ creative activities, such as poetry readings accompanied by guitar, modern dance accompanied by the percussion of used materials, regional dance, singing, and so on. Colorful costumes worn by the students also added to the festive atmosphere. When singing a song, IPB Rector received a rousing welcome from the students, and together they sang the song. Moreover, the Rector of IPB also sang the song by Wali Band titled “Baik-baik Sayang”.

"Staying in IPB’s dorms is friendship, not easy to start, day after day trying to understand each other. Initially not knowing one another, and then knowing one another. At first, being rather awkward, and then becoming sociable.  Initially, being selfish, and now caring to others. The life in a dorm is full of romance that grows friendship leading to social ties. Friendship is important for life in the middle of society,” IPB Rector suggested in his speech. (Mtd)
