IPB was the Host of ILASW 2012

Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) was the host of Indonesian Landscape Architecture Student Workshop (ILASW) 2012. This activity was held for five days, starting from 1 -5 October 2012 in Campus of IPB Darmaga. “I appreciate the activity of this ILASW. I hope in this activity the landscape architecture students can contribute or recommend the spatial policy to the government,” said Director of Student Affairs IPB, Dr. Rimbawan. 

Dr. Rimbawan challenged the audience who came from various universities to produce the best landscape architecture. “For the first winner, I provide 3 million rupiah, the second winner is 2 million rupiah, and the third winner is 1 million rupiah,” continued Dr. Rimbawan.

Tinuk, the activator of Indonesian Landscape Architecture Association (IALI) said that the science of landscape architecture combined the harmonization of people and nature formed on the certain land. “I hope the younger students one day can join with us to promote the national development,” she said.

This activity presented the speakers among them: Professor of the Department of Communication and Community Development IPB, Prof.Dr. Suryo Adiwibowo, Teaching Staff of the Department of Soil Science and Land Resource IPB, Dr. Surya Darma Tarigan, Teaching Staff of the Department of Landscape Architecture of National University of Seoul, Prof. Sung Kyun Kim, and Ir. Bintang Nugroho from the Green Building Council. (ris)
