The Visit of SMA Muhammadiyah 25 Pamulang to IPB

A total of 122 students of the SMA Muhammadiyah 25, Pamulang, accompanied by their counseling teachers visited Bogor Agricultural University. The objective of the visit  was part of its “Goes To Campus” program, and the official reception was held at the Auditorum Andi Hakim Nasution, on 14 May 2012. The Principal of the SMA Muhammadiyah 25 Pamulang, Hj. Zesmita Umar stated: "Such university visits is part our program that must be taken by all students to prepare their continuing education."
 
For this visit, Ms. Siti Nuryati, STP, M.Si, on behalve of IPB briefed  the audiences on the overview of the the University as well as information on how to be its students. "When I mention the word “agriculture” in my presentation,  a lot of the audiences interprat it as farming systems and they imagine them something that relate with mud, dirty and so forth. Though agriculture should be viewed as an upstream to downstream process, from farming into the  of agricultural industries, "she said.

Further she stated that to be agricultural scientists who are able to bring various  technologies and innovations for  agriculture development  they  will cause the Indonesian’ agriculture more prestigious and elegant that will  attract young generation to take agriculture as their life. (Wied).
