Students of SMA 3 (State High Senior School) of Bekasi Visits IPB

The big interest of the students to continue their studies at universities encourages them to seek information about the universities of their interest, including those of SMA 3 of Bekasi, who visited Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) in Dramaga, Bogor Regency, on Monday (14/5).  This group of students and teachers was received at the Auditorium of Andi Hakim Nasoetion. In the visit, more than 350 students and teachers were given a presentation describing IPB and an opportunity to have questions and answers about IPB, which was represented by Dr. Ir. Rinekso Soekmardi, MScF.

These students of SMA 3 Bekasi are highly eager to find out more about IPB, according to Vice Principal of the State Senior High School 3 of Bekasi, Dra. Juni Tri Astuti, "The pupils are very enthusiastic to come here to get more information and hopefully they can really choose the university they prefer in the SNMPTN (National Entrance Test to State Universities) that will take place later ".

Dr. Ir. Rinekso Soekmardi, MScF said, "I’d like to make us all aware of the importance of agriculture in Indonesia”.  "We often misunderstand agriculture. It is often identified with something dirty and muddy although it is the most important sector in Indonesia.” On this occasion, Dra. Juni Tri Astuti also revealed many of the SMA 3’s graduates who have completed further studies in IPB are now working as entrepreneurs. "As described in the presentation, IPB’s education is based on entrepreneurship for young people. We‘d also like to report that our students who have enrolled here and may have graduated have visited us telling that many are working as entrepreneurs, "said Dra. Juni Tri Astuti. (Mtd)
