Anies Baswedan at IPB Mengajar

Student Executive Committee Student Family (BEM KM) of Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) organized the seminar and talkshow of IDEA (IPB’s Dedication for Education) 2012, Sunday (6/5) at Graha Widya Wisuda, Campus of IPB Dramaga.  The activity which was opened by Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of IPB, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yonny Koesmaryono, MS, was attended by around 2,000 participants. The first session of talkshow presented Anies Baswedan, as the founder of Gerakan Indonesia Mengajar. The Rector of Paramadina University gave the public lecture with the theme of ‘Akupun Ingin Sekolah Seperti Mereka’. Anis Baswedan conveyed the philosophy on how was Gerakan Indonesia Mengajar founded and awakened the enthusiasm of student to serve in the educational field.
 
The second session of talkshow with the theme of ‘Surat Cinta Teruntuk Negeriku dari Pelosok-Pelosok Negeri’ presented the speakers from the alumnus of Indonesia Mengajar, i.e. Rusdi Shaleh and Saktiana Dwi Hastuti. In this session, the speakers were divisible of story about their experiences during teaching in the outlying place. The moderator of this session was Rio Aditya, the student with achievement of IPB 2012.
 
In the mid of program, there was the entertainment in form of the poetry musicology from the candidate teacher of inspiration of IPB Mengajar. IPB Mengajar was one series of program from IDEA 2012 which would be carried out in Leuwisadeng village Bogor District in July 2012.
 
The last session was, i.e. Talkshow with Alvin Adam (host ‘Just Alvin’) with the theme of ‘Refleksi Pendidikan’. In this session, it presented three speakers, i.e. Prof.Dr.Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc (Rector of IPB), Dik Doang (Founder of Kandang Jurang Doank) and Nurrohim (Founder of Yayasan Bina Insan Mandiri).
 
Prof Herry conveyed the educational reflection of agriculture and IPB. Meanwhile, Dik Doang indicated his appreciation toward the state education and his care toward the road children. Nurrohim mostly explained his attempt in building the school for the road children at Masjid Terminal Pasar Depok which was called the school of ‘Master’ Masjid Terminal.
