Again, Department of Physics of IPB Distributed Husk Hearth Stove at Cibungbulang

Again, the Department of Physics, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA IPB), through the Physics Student Association (Himasfi)  distributed 30 husk hearth stoves freely to the community in Kampung Bantar Karet, Situ Ilir Village, Cibungbulang Sub-district, Bogor District several times ago.

The distribution of this husk hearth stove was done in the socialization to the community as one of alternatives of using the fuel besides petroleum or gas.

Ahmad, one of the residents, in the socialization, pronounced that this husk hearth was very much helping the household mainly for the industrial scale. "The husk hearth has been applied by us in the small industrial scale, and also helps us when there is a wedding party,” he said.

He admitted, when there was a wedding party or a feast celebrating a circumcision, the presence of the husk hearth was very much helped in the cooking process of food. In the socialization, first of all, the community was given the knowledge and the ways to cook using this stove. Student, lecturer, public figure, village apparatus and community were mixed to interact in the activity located in the mid of garden of this resident.

"I see in Situ Ilir the raw materials of husk are very many and overflow, the price is also cheap. May it be, the existence of this stove can help the energy endurance of the community here,” said Irzaman, in the socialization. Irzaman admitted, that the using of the husk hearth stove was compared to another stove with the fuel of petroleum and gas from the side of raw material that was far cheaper.

“One sack of husk can be bought  at the price of 3,000 rupiah, or even can be free, the using can be in two weeks or one month,” he said.

Head of Himasfi, Robi Sobirin, said that this activity was a form of service of student to the community. "This activity is the form of our community in the community, so it is not only learning at the campus but also it is put into practice in the community. We hope that this hearth can be useful for the community and be distributed again for the community who needs it," he said. (man)
