IPB Job Fair 2012 Involving Tens of Big Companies
The Directorate of Career Development and Alumni Relationship of IPB working with Jobstreet.com sponsored by PT. Astra Agro Lestari, Tbk held the job fair program with the editorial of “IPB Job Fair 2012” on 27-28 April 2012, located at Gedung Grha Wisuda (GWW), Campus of IPB Dramaga Bogor.
Job Fair IPB 2012 intended to supply the university graduates about the self preparation to enter the working world, to facilitate the working world circle in getting the Human Resources needed, to facilitate the university alumni to get the job, and to develop the synergy and the mutual relationship between IPB with the working world circle particularly the supply of Human Resources which was in accord with the need.
This program was packed in three series of programs among them Career Expo which was enlivened by 37 company stands, company presentation and talk show “Preparation to Enter the Working World”. The participatory companies consisted of the companies running in Agriculture, Banking, Insurance and Financing, IT, Pharmacy, Manufacture, and so on.
The enthusiasm of participant of this job fair had been seen since the morning, the quite long queuing up was seen in front of the entrance of GWW. So, it was no mistake if the committee since the beginning targeted 3,000 visitors to present in this program. The program was started with the welcome speech from the Director of Career Development and Alumni Relationship of IPB, Dr. Ir. Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat, M.Sc. F.Trop. In his speech, he said that the job fair program this time tried to see, not from the quantity side but from the quality side of applicant, which was in accord with the need of company.
The job fair which had been 20 times implemented since 1998 was opened by the Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Dr. Ir. Yonny Koesmaryono, MS. In his welcome speech, Prof Yonny gave a bit advice to the participants in order to do the work starting from below with full of dedication, so that the participants later could handle various company problems well.
Some big companies did the introduction about their companies to the participants. The introduction to these companies was done in the company presentation session. The thing was done to contain the interest of company to socialize its profile, and to increase the insight of the job seeker about the job opportunity. The participants were also supplied with the talk show of “Preparation to Enter the Working World”. This talk show was the interactive discussion inviting some resource persons to explain the things about the working world. (rf)
