IPB, LIPI and Japan make Academic Exchange of Livestock Breeding

Bogor Agriculture University (IPB), Indonesia Institute of Sciences and Research (LIPI) and the Sokendai University of Japan held an academic exchange entitled "Toward the Better Understanding of The Natural History of Biodiversity", Thursday (26/1) in IICC (IPB International Convention Center). "This activity is aimed to exchange knowledge about genetic engineering research of biological resources, especially animals and the latest analytical methods in LIPI, Bogor Agricultural University and Sokendai," said Prof. Muladno, the Indonesia Committee of Academic Exchange.

This academic exchange also invites the Directorate General of Livestock, Ministry of Agriculture. "In its operation, we are financially supported by the Directorate General of Livestock and Animal Scientist Association of Indonesia (HIPI). Of course it is of our special pride that we can organize activities involving various agencies. From here, the cooperation is advanced to a broader level of research, i.e. studies of livestock genetics," says Prof. Muladno.

Participants took the good use of this meeting by sharing culture, familiarizing closer with the research personnel and exchanging educational information. In turns, the researchers from LIPI, Bogor Agricultural University, and University of Sokendai presented their research findings. Posters of livestock genetic engineering research were also displayed in the event, which was opened by Chairman of the Committee Prof.Yoko Satta of Sokendai University, Japan and closed by Dr.Luki Abdullah, Dean of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry IPB.
