Towards Prima Achievement in Year 2012
Towards the end of the year 2011, Rector of Bogor Agricultural University and his staff held a Coordination Meeting on "Review of Four Prime Steps Towards Achievement in the Framework of Implementation of Strategic Plan of the University 2008-2013", at IICC, on 28 December 2011. As the chairman of the coordination meetings, IPB Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, M.Sc. delivered successful achievement attained on the year 2008 – 2011 and plans for achievement in 2012.
"The first part that I present herewith is the synthesis the prime 4 we’ve achieved and implemented in the last 4 years, although they are not formally practiced, but it is part of our efforts. We can proceed further to contunus the prime achievements in 2012, it is useless for the organization which has achieved primed transparent, accountable and achieve accreditation which unable to produce better products. We may sum up, we have converged our four prima to be our power to achieve excellent achievement in the near future, "he said.
To achieve excellent performance, one of the steps to be taken is to implement Performance-Based Management System the Balanced Score Card (BSC). BSC is a method developed by Robert Kaplan and David Norton to measure any activity undertaken by an institution in order to realize its institutional’s goal, "Through this system, the University will integrate and translate the institutional’ strategies into work programs and will be able to communicate them to all staff, faculty members, and educational staff in clearly and measurable way, "he explained.
Further, the rector said that the BSC provides accurate and fast information, able to support performance-based management culture which is transparent, to transform the organization’ work to be more efficient and fast, and providing objective, systematic and sustainable feedback on the performance of the staff. The BSC will also assist lecturers, and educational staff to focus on their measurable critical performance and aligned with strategic objectives of the University in everyday activities.
According to Prof. Herry, programs to be achieved in 2012 is the preparation of guidelines for scientific papers, online KRS for SPS student, and the well- formulated and documented of the Learning Outcome of each Studies Program, the establishment of the tracer study system, admission of new students (PMB) multistrata, ISO 9001:2008 certification for educational administration services, fast-track of the S1-S2 implementation, the clusterization of TPB lectures on the new "Common Classroom" building, to be overall Champion for 2012 on PIMNAS, development of a database system of production and use of water and electricity, development of information systems use water and electricity for the SUP, SUA and SUK, manpower planning and implementation of non-civil service employees, implementation of the management system performance-based Balanced Score Card (BSC)d, ISO 9001:2008 certification for human resource services, preparation of Agenda for Biomedical Research, the realization of the Seed Center, the realization of the National Zoonotic Center, the realization of the Jurnal Hayati to be indexed by Scopus, commercialization of research results based on the most prospective Innovation Works 131 and Go Market 2 product Innovation IPB, IPB Botani Hotel in Tour Bus Pool, the finalization of the concept of the draft statute and regulation IPB as the State Universities (PTP), finalization of the existing internal legislation in preparation for the implementation of PK BLU, the process of handling legal matters, IPB Comprehensive Integrated Database System and the consolidation of Standard Operational Procedures (SOP) of the entire unit. "In addition, in 2012 we will be the host of Suiji Consorsium (29-30 May 2012), the Rector of Agriculture-based forum of Asia Pacific University, Tri U International Student Seminar, Apple QS in Bali (International Seminar and Exhibition), the International Student Summit, "he added.
Meanwhile, Prof. Hermanto Siregar as moderator for the event added that this achievement is the common works, it depends very much on the willingness of lowest level staff of the respective unit to do the assigned jobs. "We should always remember “together we can”. In that spirit, we work as it is our worship.
