Rusa: A New Thing in the Association of KSE (Salembar-Four Works) of IPB

Rusa (literally meaning deer) is not one that commonly lives in the Bogor Botanical Gardens, but is an acronym for Rumah Sahabat (Friend House) belonging to the KSE Association of Bogor Agricultural University. It was established as a form of concern from KSE IPB over the education of the nation’s next generation around the campus. It is competitively supported by a lot of large companies in this country which would like to be the donors of Rusa. Bank Mandiri becomes a single donor of Rusa with the theme "Bank Mandiri Cares for the Children of the Nation, a Friendly, Harmonious and Attractive Solution together to Overcome Challenges”.

Rusa was founded on 2 May 2011, coincided with the National Education day, to reflect that Rusa supports the advancement of education in Indonesia. However, it operated its programs actively in June 2011. It is based at Jalan Raya Babakan 4 No. 154 RT 03/ RW 07, Dramaga campus of IPB. Denis Mudlofar, a student of Food Technology, Faculty of Agricultural Technology, was asked to lead this program. Rusa’s teachers are selected from those KSE scholarship beneficiaries who are sincere and smart at teaching, as well as have an unlimited creativity in guiding young children. This is in line with the motto of Rusa’s teachers: "Sincere, Smart and Unlimited."

The main goal of Rusa is as a place for youth and children to improve and enrich soft skills and learn social responsibilities which will be the life foundation in the future. From the major goal, some programs of Rusa are formed, namely Let’s Learn, Let’s Cook, Let’s Work, Let’s Watch Movies, and Let’s Serve the Society. The program Let’s Learn is offered every day from Monday through Friday at the secretariat, while the other programs run once every two months alternately at the secretariat or at the Foundation of Tarbiyatul Yatama, Cibadak, Bogor.
