IPB and PT. Bina Pertiwi Sign MoU

Bogor Agriculture University (IPB) and PT. Bina Pertiwi sign a memorandum of understanding for industrial agricultural development cooperation through academic assistantship and working partnership to achieve food security. The signing was done at the Lobby of Andi Hakim Nasoetion Building 2nd floor (17/1) by IPB Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Herry Suhardiyanto, M. Sc and Ir. Bugie Laksmana, MBA as President Director of PT. Bina Pertiwi.

"Our hope is that with this partnership we can change the image and do the rebranding of agriculture, from the agriculture that is considered shabby and unprofitable to an image of something profitable and to be proud of in the eyes of the younger generation," Rector said in his speech.

It is planned that this cooperation will become a bridge between the academic activities and practical world of work in the exchange of knowledge and experience, facilitating research and practical application of research as well as community service activities.

In the short term, a corporate farming of rice will be developed by using modern agricultural tools and machines in Karawang on an area of 10 hectares. (Mtd)
