Deputy Governor of East Java, Syaifullah Yusuf had the opportunity to visit the IPB’s stand in the Exhibition of Higher Education / Professional Education held in the Sports Building (GOR) of Jombang, 01/17/2012. Upon entering the IPB’s stand, the Deputy Governor expressed loudly a friendly greeting typical of East Java to the IPB team. "Hello IPB! Well IPB great," he said while tasting the IPB’s Crystal Guava of IPB offered by an IPB student, a member of the Regional Student Organization (Omda) of Jombang.
"Is this guava the result of IPB research?" he asked, which was answered by the exhibition officer that the fruit is the result of IPB’s innovation, which has now been cultivated by farmers and penetrated the export share. Gus Ipul, the familiar name for the former State Minister for Development of Disadvantaged Regions, also expressed appreciation for the participation of IPB as a favorite college in the exhibition visited by around 9000 students of SMA / SMK / MA (senior high school/vocational high school/ Islamic senior high school) throughout Jombang.
Gus Ipul also got the opportunity to look at the innovative products of IPB displayed in the exhibition, for example herbal drinks such as a variety of ginger, secang, ginger, rosella tea, cassava brownies, aromatic soaps, educational farm dolls farm "Horta", and so on.
The exhibition, which was held for two days and was followed by 57 state and private universities, is a means set up ??by the Council of Guidance and Counseling Teachers of SMA / SMK / MA throughout Jombang to provide understanding of higher education and stimulate their interest to pursue further education.
Kilayani, a student of SMAN 1 Jombang, expressed her interest to be a student of IPB. "I will choose the Nutrition Science major," she said. An interest to be an IPB student was also stated by Hanif Lestari, a student of SMAN Ploso.
