Video Conference of Young Entrepreneur Candidate
At least 80 IPB students attended the video conference "Independent Young Entrepreneurs", on Wednesday (9/11) in the LSI Auditorium, Dramaga Campus of IPB Bogor. Nine other universities also participated, including UBINUS, UKI, Gunadarma University, Gadjah Mada University, and Andalas University. The video conference is held by the Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI) of the Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs of Jakarta.
The Video Conference began with a general lecture on entrepreneurship by the Managing Director of Finance & Strategy Pahala N. Mansury. According to him, entrepreneurship and leadership are quite close because any type of business could not be built by an individual alone, but needs a partner. That’s why an entrepreneur should also have the skill of leadership.
He said that an entrepreneur who has the leadership skill will be able to bring his organization into innovations. "Love what you are doing. Do what you love," said Pahala to the students in various cities, who are all wearing T-shirts labeled Independent Young Entrepreneur.
The spirit that was instilled by Pahala was welcomed by the attending students. Longa Vita Paradase, for example, a student of Statistics Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (F-MIPA) IPB, admitted he had to come back up with her business that is now declining. "This has motivated me to return and continue my goal, that is, to have a business in learning guidance and animal farm," says this female student of the 5th semester.
Like Vita, Head of Student Welfare Subdivision Megawati Simanjuntak said that this activity is indeed widely open for IPB students but with the priority for those who have engaged in some businesses which are declining
Thus, Megawati further said, this activity held for the first time is very good for the students to attend so that they are motivated to keep their businesses. "Students are expected to rely not only on intellectual capacity but also on the emotional intelligence. A good mental attitude is expected from the candidates of these young entrepreneurs," said Mega. Apart from the students, Video Conference in IPB was also attended Agusalim, Area Manager of Bank Mandiri Bogor. (Mtd)
