Hunter Organized Home Coming Day
In order to establish networks and improve the relationships between the alumni, the Association of Alumni of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, which is noted as Hunter, organized Home Coming Day, on 15 October 2011, held in Johanes Hutasoit function room, Darmaga Campus. In his remarks, the Minister of Agriculture, Mr. Suswono, who is also an alumnus of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry stated that currently Indonesia has attained self-sufficiency in meat, as indicated by the result of census of livestock population in Indonesia recently.
Based on those report, the Minister of Agriculture is optimistic that the target of self-sufficiency in meat can be achieved by 2014. "At present the domestic meat production continues to rise or even greater than the amount of imported meat," said the Minister of Agriculture.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Hunter, Ms. Rifda Amarina stated that Hunter will always provide funding support for outstanding students who are less fortunate, especially the students of Faculty of Animal Husbandry. The source of the scholarships is the contribution and donation of the alumni of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry who works in various fields. In addition, Rifda expressed that the scholarship is the contributions from the alumni to their alma mater.
Students of Faculty of Animal Husbandry of batches 45 and 46 performed Javanese dances for the Home Coming Day. In addition there were also booths from student of various batches, which included FAPET products, LARUBA (large ruminants lab), stands of PT SWAN which exhibited Biogas Expo and from East Kalimantan (KALTIM) Animal Hubandry Service which exhibited local Deer as one of its superior cattle.
