Andi Rif and Glen Fredly Share Their Life Story

Andi Rif whose full name is Restu Triandy  and Glend Fredly the famous Indonesian  artist, told story  of their  life  on music, in the  special event “BNI presents Rolling Stone Workshop Music Biz On Campus”  in the Auditorium of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Bogor Agricultural University, on Wednesday, 19 October 2011.

"Years ago,  I had the idea to apply for a job at  the leading bank in Indonesia, but because I had decided to take music as my life and I enjoyed it, so finally I become an artist," said Andi who wore the cowboy hat. Andi, explained that he experienced to be student at a university only for two years, and had also applied for the job.

 “Certainly,  all parents demand that their children will be having good jobs with monthly salary, but apparently I did not fit with all those jobs. I have decided to become an artist because I am confident that  it will give a bright future for my life, "he said. According to him, after years and years, finally he had able to convince his parents that  music is a better life for him.

Finally my parents realized, “Andy is not qualified to work as employee in the office, he will be better to work on the stage," he imitated his parents. Different experience was expressed by Glen Fredly. Glen had been blessed by soft voice talent since his childhood. Since he had been in his high school he had been invited to sing in various cafes, thus, Glen was able to shoulder their own lives without his parents’ support.

"Yes, since I become high school pupil I’ve been able to live on my own, it was not necessarry for me to ask for money to my parents, I even able to treat my friends," he said. The special event was officially opened by the Director of Student Affairs of Bogor Agricultural University, Dr. Rimbawan, and was moderated by the executive editor of Rolling Stone Indonesia, Mr.  Wendi Putranto, who is  also the author of Rolling Stone Music Biz: Manual Cerdas Menguasai Bisnis Musik.  (Rolling Stone Music Biz: Intelligent Manual in Mastering Music Business).
