Targeting Mission of Achievement
It certainly gives us some pride if we look at the list of IPB students who have excelled. Moreover, the achieving students are from economically disadvantaged families. Certainly, it proves that limited economy of an individual does not affect his achievements and dreams for success.
Exactly from 19 to 21 August 2011, seven students of IPB took part in the call for papers at the International Conference on Environmental Engineering and applications/ICEEA 2011 in Shanghai, China. ICEEA is an annual event organized by APCBEES (Asia-Pacific Chemical, Biological, and Environmental Engineering Society) in different States.
Of the seven students, three receive the scholarship of Bidik Misi (Targeting Mission). When interviewed, one student, Hevi Metalika Aprilia, admitted that that it is hard to believe he had just returned from overseas. "Before, I did not even dare to dream to continue my education in higher education. But many gave me a lot of support, so only with the courage and high spirit I enrolled to IPB. Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah), aim the scholarship of Bidik Misi came up as the answer to my prayers to Him. As soon as I arrived at this campus of struggle, I was still afraid to dream. Without mentioning participating in international competitions, I never think of taking part in national levels. But everything goes according to His will, as long as we want to persevere and pray, extraordinary things you never thought could come just like that. SubhanAllah, He even gave what we didn’t ask for. And from now on, I always dare to dream, about anything as high as possible", so said a female student from Tuban, East Java.
Azfar Muqafa Reza has been very optimistic from the beginning of his dreams. Reza said, "The ability of a person is never limited by physical aspects or materials; the two will affect us in order not maximize our existing capabilities. Everyone has been created by Allah with all potential and advantages, which with Will of Allah all have great benefits”.
Riki Cahyo Edy expressed his impression: "Events like ICEEA 2011 or the like provides many useful experiences. Hopefully it can become the work program of the Directorate of Student Affairs to socialize further to the students toward IPB as a World Class University ".
With this achievement, the student is expected to trigger the students’ motivation to achieve more in their fields. The economic factors are no longer the reasons for not reaching accomplishments and dreams. Instead, people with financial limitation usually possess higher motivation and dreams to move forward. The most important is a strong will and motivation. (Mtd)
