Head of National Land Agency in IPB

Economy and environment are like two sides of the same coin; a more developed an economy will cause greater environmental damage. So says the Head of National Land Agency of the Republic of Indonesia, Joyo Winoto in a general lecture titled "Green Economy Towards Sustainable Development" in the closing of the Anniversary of Economics and Management Faculty in Darmaga Campus of IPB, (7 / 6).

He said that the concept of Green New Deal emerged as a response to the economy that causes the damage to the environment.

At the beginning of his general lecture, Head of National Land Agency of the Republic of Indonesia, Joyo Winoto asked the students, "Do we agree on the green economy? Have we understood the environmental issues? Or will we just become a follower of the existing schools of thought?" he said.

In addition, Joyo Winoto also described four views of world economists: Liberal Market, Institutional, Bio-environmentalist, and Social Green.  Each has its own more advanced ideas, in which we can decide to put ourselves, he said.

Meanwhile Joyo Winoto himself views that the economy of a State is its political economy to build its people and their welfare.

In the closing ceremony, two books were launched, containing a collection of the results of the research by  the teaching staff of the Faculty of Economics and Management of  IPB, called Orange Book 3 and a book entitled "From Agriculture to Industry,  a Development Analysis  in the Perspective of Regional Economy written by Dr.DS Priyarsono. The even was closed by the Rector of IPB, Herry Suhardiyanto, MSc. (Mtd)
