Friday Tour in Ciherang Peuntas: From Animal Health, Plant Pests to Irrigation
Drh.(vet.) Rahmat Hidayat, a teaching staff of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Bogor Agricultural University, is ready to serve animal farmers in the area of Ciherang Peuntas that have problems with diseased cattle. He said that in the Friday Tour held by Research and Community Service Institution (LPPM-IPB) with the farmer communities in the mosque of Nurul Ikhsan in the Sub-district of Ciherang, Bogor (10 / 6).
The offer of Drh. Rahmat Hidayat was welcomed directly by the farmers present on the occasion. In addition, he also said he would help people of Ciherang Peuntas especially animal farmers to process animal dung as their additional business.
On the same occasion, one member of Mitra Cai group complained about the rice plants that are always attacked by pests and often broken waterways. The complaint was immediately responded by Dr. Moh. Yanuar J. Purwanto.
Dr.Yanuar said that irrigation should be made of right flow, and today the fact that a lot of irrigation is terminated by the housing estates, so there must be cooperation from upstream to downstream to make irrigation.
Responding to the rice pests that are always attacking, Director of Plants Clinics, Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Suryo Wiyono, said that his team will immediately check what type of pests attack rice in the village of Ciherang. He said that IPB has a plant clinic and it offers a free service for farmers who wish to consult on their farm.
On the occasion, IPB gave some guide books to growers of banana and other horticultural crops. In this Friday Tour, IPB also distributed financial aid to twenty orphans in Ciherang and six sheep (Mtd)
