The Board of Trustees (MWA) of IPB University officially inaugurated the Interim Deputy Rector for Resource and Infrastructure Resilience for the 2023-2028 period. This inauguration was carried out as a strategic step to strengthen governance, maintain leadership continuity, and accelerate the institution’s transformation agenda.

During the inauguration ceremony held at the IPB Dramaga Campus on Wednesday (1/14), the Chair of the IPB University MWA, Prof Dr Hardinsyah, emphasized that the role of the vice rector is crucial in assisting the rector in achieving the key performance indicators (KPIs) that have been set.

“The first expectation is that, since the vice rector’s duty is to assist and be accountable to the rector, we want to show that Dr Alim’s team as the current Rector is truly capable and able to achieve the KPIs that have been promised until 2028, and even exceed them,” said Prof Hardinsyah.

He emphasized the importance of regular KPI monitoring and the courage to improve regulations, both at the MWA and rectorate levels, if necessary, in order to accelerate the institution’s progress.

In addition, MWA also encourages the strengthening of asset management through integrated digital recording, documentation, and inventory. In the field of business development, the roles of Academic Business Units (SUA), Support Business Units (SUP), and Commercial Business Units need to be clarified so that all units can grow optimally in accordance with their mandates.

“Each faculty and school can form venture units to advance SUA and SUP in accordance with their respective fields of study. The goal is clear: to improve the welfare of lecturers and educational staff, both financially and non-financially,” he said.

Meanwhile, IPB University Rector Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet said that the appointment of Dr Heti Mulyati as Vice Rector for Resource and Infrastructure Resilience was based on careful consideration, including integrity, capability, practical experience, and the ability to adapt and work in an established leadership team.

“This decision is an important part of maintaining leadership continuity, governance stability, and the sustainability of IPB University’s transformation agenda. Integrity, capability, and experience are key in facing IPB’s increasingly complex and dynamic challenges in the future,” said Dr Alim.

To the new Vice Chancellor, he mandated a number of strategic agendas to be properly overseen. These include fulfilling the needs of lecturers and educational staff; accelerating the development and improving the quality of sustainable education, research, and information technology infrastructure; and improving financial management and procurement of goods and services to be more transparent and accountable.

“Equally important is accelerating the improvement of the welfare of lecturers and educational staff from a holistic well-being perspective,” he added.

He emphasized, “Prosperous human resources are the foundation of a competitive and impactful university.”

Dr Alim encouraged team consolidation and strengthened communication with all stakeholders so that every aspiration could be heard and the strategic agenda could be realized in a measurable and sustainable manner.

“On behalf of the leadership, I wish you all the best in carrying out your duties. May Allah SWT always give you strength and wisdom in carrying out your duties for the advancement of IPB University and its contribution to the nation and state,” he concluded. (AS) (IAAS/ZHR)
