IPB University held a Financial Literacy Training and Socialization of KIP Kuliah and Affirmation 2025 on Monday (12/22) at the Grha Widya Wisuda Building, IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor. The event was attended by 1.200 students, consisting of 1.023 students receiving the Kartu Indonesia Pintar-Kuliah (KIP Kuliah) scholarship for the 62nd batch, 23 Affirmation students, and 41 recipients of Bank BTN’s Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) assistance.

In his speech, IPB University Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs, Prof Deni Noviana, emphasized that this briefing plays a strategic role in supporting the academic success and personal development of scholarship recipients.

“KIP Kuliah and Affirmation scholarship recipients are expected to not only excel academically, but also be able to manage their finances wisely, maintain academic integrity, and build adaptive leadership skills,” said Prof Deni.

This event marked a historic moment. For the first time, all KIP Kuliah scholarship recipients from the 62nd cohort were gathered in person for a unified event. The program included the launch of the Bank BTN TJSL Living Cost Scholarship, the symbolic handover of KIP Kuliah and Affirmative Action scholarships from IPB, the handover of Binagriya Insurance, as well as motivational sessions and information sessions on KIP Kuliah.

In the financial literacy session, students received training on daily financial management and lifestyle control. The material presented emphasized the importance of distinguishing between needs and wants, as well as the awareness that it is not the cost of living that is expensive, but lifestyle, so that education funds can be used optimally and sustainably.

The academic and personal development material was delivered by Yon Sugiarto, SSi, MSc, Technical Team for KIP Kuliah Scholarships and Affirmation Center (PPAPT, Kemdiktisaintek). He encouraged students to have clear study plans, academic discipline, and the ability to adapt to change.

“In this era of disruption, it is not the smartest who survive, but those who consistently learn and are able to adapt,” emphasized Yon Sugiarto during the briefing session. He also highlighted  the importance of strengthening soft skills, digital literacy, academic integrity, and readiness to face an increasingly competitive and dynamic world of work.

This activity is supported by Bank BTN and Bank BRI as KIP Kuliah partner banks, which play a role in supporting banking services and distributing educational assistance to students. This synergy is expected to strengthen an inclusive and sustainable higher education support ecosystem.

The event was also enlivened by performances from KIP Kuliah and Affirmation students from each faculty, an introduction to the KIP Kuliah IPB Association (Galaksi IPB), a visit to the Bank BTN partner MSMEs booth, and an interactive Q&A session. During the event, the best faculty was also announced, which was awarded to the Faculty of Agriculture. (*/Rz) (IAAS/KQA)
