IPB University LKST Launches Lemonaria and Botani Bakery Innovation Products
The Science and Technology Area Institute (LKST) officially launched two new innovation products resulting from the commercialization of research and technology by IPB University researchers, namely the ready-to-drink (RTD) collagen lemon drink ‘Lemonaria’ and Botani Bakery’s cheese and chocolate filled bread variants.
The launch, which was held at the IPB Taman Kencana Campus, Bogor, on (11/25), is a tangible manifestation of the acceleration of the commercialization of food innovations developed by IPB University.
“Lemonaria is an innovation by IPB University lecturers designed to meet the needs of modern consumers for refreshing yet healthy drinks,” said the Chairperson of LKST IPB University, Prof Erika B Laconi.
Meanwhile, she added, the launch of Botani Bakery signifies the capability of IPB University’s Science Techno Park (STP) to operate high-quality bread production facilities.
“These cheese and chocolate-filled bread products demonstrate that the new STP facilities can produce soft, delicious bread that is ready to compete in the market. Similarly, Lemonaria is presented as a healthy and practical beverage for the community,” she said.
Both products are processed through the Teaching Industry line at IPB University’s STP, a facility that previously produced bottled drinking water (AMDK) ‘Botani’ with complete distribution permits (SNI, Halal, and MD BPOM). This, Prof Erika emphasized, demonstrates STP’s readiness to meet food and beverage industry regulatory standards.
“The presence of these innovative food and beverage products is a commitment by IPB University to accelerate the commercialization of research results. In addition to providing industrial-scale production facilities, STP also supports licensing, startup business development, and technology licensing opportunities for partners,” said Prof Erika.
STP IPB University is currently equipped with various production and development facilities such as extraction and evaporation units, spray dryers, biscuit and pastry lines, testing laboratories, and workspaces for research and business collaboration. These facilities can be utilized by innovators, startups, and industries for product development, contract manufacturing, laboratory testing, and commercialization.
“STP is expected to serve as an intermediary between the campus and industry so that research can develop into value-added products for society and the national economy,” she concluded. (AS)
