MWA IPB University Appreciates the Appointment of Prof Arif Satria as The Director of BRIN
The Board of Trustees (MWA) of IPB University expresses its appreciation and gratitude to the President of the Republic of Indonesia for the trust placed in one of IPB’s best professors Prof Arif Satria, Rector of IPB University, who has been appointed as The Director of the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). Prof Arif’s inauguration as The Director of BRIN was conducted by President Prabowo Subianto at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday, November 10, 2025.
The Chair of the Board of Trustees of IPB University, Prof Dr Hardinsyah MS, stated that Prof Arif’s appointment is a form of recognition of the academic capacity, leadership, and cooperation possessed by IPB University, especially Prof Arif Satria.
“We would like to thank the President of the Republic of Indonesia for choosing one of IPB University’s best professors to lead BRIN. This is a source of pride and a great responsibility for IPB University,” said Prof Hardinsyah.
He also said that “The IPB University family supports Prof Arif’s dedication in his new position, and we ask for the prayers and support of the government, the private sector, and all BRIN stakeholders so that Prof Arif can carry out this mandate to the best of his ability, bringing progress to national research and innovation that will have an increasing impact on the welfare of the people and the competitiveness of the nation,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Secretary of the IPB University MWA, Dr Rinekso Soekmadi, emphasized that the mechanism for replacing the Rector is clearly regulated in the IPB University MWA regulations.
“The IPB University MWA has regulations governing the procedure for filling the position of Rector in the event of a vacancy. This process will be carried out in accordance with applicable regulations to ensure the continuity of leadership and governance at IPB University,” explained Dr Rinekso.
Thus, the MWA IPB University ensures that the entire leadership transition process will proceed in an orderly, transparent manner, and in accordance with the principles of good university governance.
